If you look closely, you'll see that I appear to be hiding a tennis ball in my left ankle. Yesterday when I was carrying a box down my stairs, I somehow missed the last couple of steps and tumbled down, twisting my ankle as I fell. Today my friends rallied around me and spirited me to Student Health for an x-ray and checkup. It was confirmed that I had a sprain, not a break (thankfully!) and I was issued a pair of crutches, a tie-on ice pack and an ankle splint. I really appreciate my kind friends during these times; it's really comforting to know that they are there when I need them. Poodle was wonderful throughout all of this and carried my stuff for me and helped me to the various buildings I needed to get to and commandeered her MS to give me a ride home afterward. And she washed my dishes! Last night when this happened, Ferret came over and iced my ankle and gave me piggy back rides and generally boosted morale. Later he brought a meal that SS had made - fantastic lamb curry with delicious green beans and some brownies for dessert. When the sprain first happened, I called Bunny in tears and she provided emotional support as well as pictorial documentation of her own ankle break a couple of years ago. We sent pictures back and forth but couldn't really diagnose it. In any case, I was cheered. And today AG gave me a ride to Student Health and provided some medical advice: "It's hard to tell, you'll need to get an x-ray." :o) Now I will eat another brownie and watch some Sex and the City.
oh thank god it wasn't a broken ankle. that would be so horrible. glad to hear you're feeling better and that you had plenty of friends to help even tho i couldnt be there :(. kissies
